THUAN HAI'S SOLUTION AT THE SEMINAR ON BIOENERGY FOR THE TEXTILE AND GARMENT INDUSTRY

As a connecting forum, Thuan Hai shares about the turnkey energy solution (raw materials, boilers, maintenance, and operation services) through a practical perspective from successfully implemented projects over the years.

On November 27, 2020, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in collaboration with the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS) and Decathlon Vietnam successfully organized a seminar on biomass-fired boiler technology.

Part of the Climate Protection through Sustainable Bioenergy Market Development Project in Vietnam (BEM) implemented by GIZ in collaboration with the Electricity and Renewable Energy Authority under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, under the sponsorship of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety of Germany (BMU). The BEM project will be implemented in 2023 to promote the sustainable development of biomass resources for heat and power production in Vietnam, aiming to improve the prerequisites for sustainable use of biomass resources for electricity and heat production nationwide. The project's focus is on enhancing planning, technical, and financial capacities for entities operating in the biomass energy sector to implement effective investment projects.

The project focuses on three main areas of activity:

  • First, creating conditions and supporting the adjustment of policy frameworks for planning and licensing biomass energy projects at the provincial level.
  • Second, enhancing the capacity of private enterprises to design and develop biomass energy investment projects. Enhancing the capacity of financial institutions to mobilize funding for biomass energy investment projects.
  • Third, supporting and promoting technology cooperation and connecting Vietnamese enterprises with international enterprises, research institutes, and universities on the use of biomass resources for electricity and heat production.
