Ajinomoto Vietnam Company, a subsidiary of the Ajinomoto Group from Japan, specializes in producing high-quality, safe spices, food, beverages, and nutritional products tailored to the tastes and needs of Vietnamese people.

Thuan Hai Joint Stock Company - a leading entity in the investment, construction, and operation of boilers in Vietnam today - is also a pioneering enterprise in using renewable biomass fuel, contributing to creating clean energy sources and reducing adverse environmental impacts.

On February 11, 2022, the signing ceremony for the contract to supply steam electricity from the 12MW Biomass Generation System between Thuan Hai and Ajinomoto Vietnam took place at the Nikko Hotel (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City).

The event marks an important milestone, elevating the cooperative relationship between the two parties while also demonstrating a shared goal in the transition towards efficient and environmentally friendly green energy.

The steam-electricity cogeneration project is developed based on biomass energy sources, producing steam-heat electricity to serve production activities. This is one of the first biomass renewable energy projects in Vietnam, fully meeting the criteria for green development, and environmental friendliness, and contributing to reducing pressure on the national power grid.

The total investment in the project amounts to 800 billion VND, with a boiler capacity of 90 tons/hour, an electricity capacity of 12 MW, and 100% biomass fuel (rice husks, rice husk pellets, palm kernel shells). The system is built within the premises of Ajinomoto Bien Hoa factory, covering an area of about 5,000 m2, located in Bien Hoa I Industrial Park, An Binh Ward, Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province.

Furthermore, this project is supported by Japan's Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) credit mechanism to promote the transfer and dissemination of low-carbon emission technologies in developing countries. The JCM mechanism encourages green growth and supports the implementation of international commitments to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions.

Leaders and representatives of both parties successfully attended the signing ceremony. Thuan Hai's leadership was represented by Ms. Duong Thi My Linh - Chairwoman of the Board of Directors cum General Director and members of the company's Board of Management. Ajinomoto, Mr. Keiji Kaneko - General Director of Ajinomoto Vietnam participated. Additionally, the ceremony also saw the participation of Mr. Tomoaki Shibutani - Representative of DJK Vietnam - the consulting unit on the JCM credit mechanism.

According to the outlined plan, the project will be completed and commence trial operation in December 2023, officially operating in 2024.
