THUAN HAI & AJINOMOTO VIETNAM SIGNED THE STEAM AND ELECTRICITY SUPPLY FROM 12 MW BIOMASS COGENERATION PLANT CONTRACT

Thuan Hai is a leader in the field of investment, construction, and operation of boilers in Vietnam. In addition, Thuan Hai is also a pioneer in consuming renewable biomass resources, contributing to creating clean energy resources and minimizing adverse impacts on the environment.
On February 11th, the Steam and Electricity Supply from the 12 MW Biomass Co-generation Plant Contract Signing Ceremony between Thuan Hai Corporation and Ajinomoto Vietnam took place at Nikko Hotel (District 1, HCMC). The event marks an important milestone, promotes greater & longer between 2 companies, and aims to the common goal of utilizing green, efficient, and environmentally friendly energy.

The steam–electricity cogeneration project is developed based on biomass raw materials, thereby producing steam, heat, and electricity. This is a renewable & environmentally friendly project, contributing to reducing the pressure of the national power generation system. Thuan Hai's biomass cogeneration project is one of the first biomass projects in Vietnam, fully satisfying the criteria towards green and environmentally friendly development.
The total investment of the project is up to 800 billion VND, with a boiler capacity of 90 tons/hour, an electrical capacity of 12 MW, and using 100% biomass fuel (milled rice husk, rice husk pellets, oil palm shell). The project is located on the campus of Ajinomoto Bien Hoa factory in Bien Hoa I Industrial Zone, An Binh ward, Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province with a total area of about 5,000 m2.

At the same time, this project is also supported by Japan's Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) to promote the transfer and dissemination of low carbon emission technologies in developing countries. The JCM encourages green growth and supports the implementation of international commitments in GHG emission reduction.
The signing ceremony took place successfully with the attendance of leaders and representatives of the parties. The leadership attendances of Thuan Hai were Mrs. Duong Thi My Linh - Chairman of the Board of Directors cum General Director and members of the Board of Directors. On the side of Ajinomoto, there was the attendance of Mr. KEIJI KANEKO – General Director of Ajinomoto Vietnam. In addition, the signing ceremony was also attended by Mr. TOMOAKI SHIBUTANI - Representative of DJK Vietnam – JCM Consulting Agency.
According to the plan, the project is expected to complete construction and start testing in December 2023, officially operating in 2024.
